A ragtag group of “investigators”, who all visited picturesque Block Island for personal or professional reasons, meet near port. Each of them had a quite successful day, but will the evening be just as enjoyable?
The wonderful day was followed by a god-aweful night. The Lighthouse on Fox island was out of order which, combined the tardiness of the first mate, caused the ferry to run aground. The investigators saved themselves towards the lighthouse, but their rowboat got damaged after hitting the wreckage of a recently sunk ship.
After barely making it to shore they found subtle hints about an attack on the lighthouse. Gathering clues, they found evidence that one of the lighthouse-keepers has been trying to sell some coins and later they indeed come across four golden coins in the locker next to one of the beds.
When they explored the top of the tower, they found the grizzly scene of a light-housekeeper's last stand against several horrendous fish-like humanoids. Trying to get help as fast as possible they fired off a flare from the top of the lighthouse and started to repair the radio. Barring the doors of the lighthouse proved critical, after the creatures started another assault. But two unblocked windows were enough of a weak point to allow the beasts to launch venomous darts at the investigators. Scared they fled to the top, hoping to hold out until help arrives.
Three fish creatures tried to charge up, but two were shot dead on the stairs by the revolver-wielding Clergyman, while the last one was punched over the handrails by Fred. Just twenty minutes later the Johnstown Coastguard arrived and brought them to safety at Wickford, RI.
