[July 7. 1925] (FoundryVTT Session, June 17. 19:00 / June 21. 19:30)
The investigators followed a trail of evidence to an abandoned factory in East Providence. But they found that the lights… were on…
After lying in wait for a while, Fred and Evelyn decided to circle around the property hoping to find a way to covertly enter it. They managed to avoid the sole factory dweller that came out for a patrol around the buildings. Instead of sneaking into a building they decided to ambush and question one the next guard passing by. The ambush went a bit too well, as Fred's knocked the guard unconscious with a single blow.
A quick first aid treatment later he woke up, albeit heavily dazed. The interrogation was brief and the guy was mostly cooperative in light of the gun on his face, but he was constantly losing focus looking at the sky. The whole operation seemed to be run by a Mr. Dover, who “sees everything” and can “make you see things beyond your wildest dreams”. He described a weird procedure of hosing someone with water to obtain the black, but was growing increasingly panicked with every bit of information he revealed. Finally, he was tied up and the investigators retreated to find more information on Mr. Dover.
Using their various contacts they found that that Jacob Dover had purchased the Slaughterhouse quite recently. He was born in Rhode Island, but grew up out of the country and had just returned 2 years prior. Apparently, his mother had died in a boating accident while saving him from drowning, and his father sold the company he had inherited to go on extended travels a year later. The police had looked into Dover for buying some amount of pharmaceutical grade alcohol, but he had the required license. Brighton was able to find Dover's address and Augustus promptly sent his trusty P.I. to stake it out.
